Ala Ala Shrawan Ala , WOW Welcoming Shrawan The Holy Month !!

The end of the Gatari Amavasaya where usually  whole night merry clinging glasses of beer and enjoying spicy non-veg feast , the day ahead we welcome the holy month of SHARAWAN . The month is auspicious since it accompanies many religious festival, Shrawani Somvar and Shaniwar celebration all the month along . The month long pious month even makes a die hard non veg connoisseur to leave that and enjoy the delicacies of sweets and veg. dishes in Shrawan .


The week starts with the Shrawani Somvar where people visit the temples of Shiva and fast for the day . The major enjoyment of Sharwan is the enjoyment of feast after the fast in the evening . the major delicacy is the spicy alu wadi . It is a great bliss to have the home-made aluwadis which make to feast in sharawan a pure enjoyment. Its nature great surprise to us that the same vegetables like alu, moongacha bird, bhendi ,maath ( red leafy vegetable ) taste so nice in this month . The evening delicacy of dinner to eat on a banana leaf is a treat in itself . the enjoyment of having varan -bhat -tup, mughacha birde, alu vadi the combination is fundu out of the world. then the dessert which usually on shrawani somvar is narayandas ladu (rawa ladu) is simply great.

The festival of Nagpanchmi is also celebrated during Shrawan which people do puja of naagdevata. Now,people have stopped feeding milk to the poor snake whole day and using small idols of naag is welcome sign of modernity . But the major part of the nagpanchami is the sweet delicacies it offered. the patoli, is the sweet which is prepared from rice flour, jaggery and coconut which is wrapped in the haldi leaves and steamed which give the fragrance and taste of he leaves is great.Then there are sabudanyacha fenya that crunchy munchy fried stuff which we enjoyed with its crackling noise in the mouth .

No one can forget the festival of Raksha bandhan /Narali purnima The day people prepare various sweets of coconut like naarali wadi, burfi and my favourite naarali bhat. I enjoy it since its very simple dish from coconut , rice , kismis, but usually tastes better and best on this day only.

This is followed by JANMASTHAMI, the birth of Lord Krishna, which is followed by day long fast which is broken at midnight with basundi and puri.



Thus overall the month of shrawan which plays all month along the hide and seek with rains. there is a sudden burst of very heavy rains with lull for next few moments described aptly as "SHRAWANSARI". The green dense cover in the city is a dream come true which this month brings along.

So friends welcome the month of SHRAWAN with an open heart and enjoying fasting and feasting month along !!!

Whiff of New Air!!!!!

Just within 15 days span saw two movies which were completely different from there normal genre. Shaitan and Delhi Belly were completely from the hatke lot. Shaitan had a complete novice brand of actors and sort of edgy feeling , while Delhi Belly with the known production house and young heartthrob was being famous for its cuss words and shit.


Shaitan the movie which revolves around the gang of rich buddies who through there share of mental trauma and to acquire high try to break the mould enjoy LSD things to get the kick. Even if it fills the run of mill story but the treatment given is fresh and engrossing. The only they missed on was apart from Kalki, Rajeev Khandelwal and Shiv Pandit , you fail to remember the other actors who have given the fine performances.the movie always remind of the real life incidents which are of course the plots on which movie is based as the makers say , how the nexus of police and the uber rich try to hide the crime . apart from it the similar situation like peepli live where media blares its own trumpet to make the situation worse for all. Kalki and Rajeev have given excellent performances . over all Anurag Kashyap has stuck to his dark genre of films but with bright and edgy characters . the remix of " Khoya Khoya Chand " is fantastic .
the movie really delights in sense even though zero stars still it is worth dekho.




Delhi belly was complete surprise package regarding the way it generated the buzz for its swear  words .The duo who completely loss the credit between was ABHINAY DEO and the film writer Akshat Verma . The script which uses the usual normal youngsters lingo makes the movie very close to our heart. After the dud GAME with reasonably good star cast , Abhinay throws a surprise with funny adult situational comic caper.super performance by trio Imran, Weird Ass alias  Vir Das , and Kunal. the don acted by Vijay Razz and his cronies also give superb support cast . Poorna Jagnathan was the new surprise packet in the movie with very reliable journalistic performance. Shenaz was okie dokie. The film break the barriers of being nice and brings all of us in there elements. Its guaranteed that while leaving the cinema hall people will be yelling " f*** what gr8 movie".

Yup, these two movies really are turning out to be the latest version like T20s in the movie which will give you a fast paced , whacky and right to the point kind of movies which makes us to want more !!!! THANKS AAMIR and ANURAG to bring 'A' class product which we always enjoyed watching in Hollywood rom-coms.

Mesmerising Movie-Balgandharav

Watched BALGANDHARAV this Sunday , very anxious to know about it since as I know very less about his life rather than his natya sangeet.Its always difficult to make biographical film on the legend since a slight mistake can cause major storm in the cup.But here Director Ravi Jadhav has made a great job. The also makes the audience go into the era of natya sangeet which was the type of first class entertainment .


But major and the only credit goes to actor Subodh Bhave whose wonderful acting and impersonating woman role was fantastic. to wear bharjari sari and jewelery , and to act with finesse is simply superb act.Plus it was a surprise to watch the events through which Balgandharav has to go through , the mountain of huge loan over him and death of his closed ones . The moment he decides not to cancel, even though he knows that his daughter has been expired before the show is really heart drenching . Every minute details were maintained by Nitin Chandrakant Desai as producer to make it lavish and surreal. the music by Kaushal Inamdar was superb with PARVADIGAR was fantastic . Overall , must watch film and enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DUM MARO DUM -ok one timepass movie :(

Was very excited to hear nice reviews about the movie DUM MARO DUM which was told to be different type of movie from the usual run -of the mill types . The movie in the start created excitement by the scenic beauty of Goa and the beautiful shots of emotions like fear enjoyment . Prateek Babbar has done an excellent job who got the full time exposure in this movie. The movie the events are getting back in fro which makes the puzzles of certain screen very clear . the movie main star cast Abhishek Bachchan has done a decent job but stone face of his acting at times makes the movie bore bit at times . The new comer Rana Duggabati has good screen presence but no real stuff to act, just hanging the guitar and moving on his bike which looks so small for his physique. Govind Namdeo seems to dragging the role similar tone in SATYA . Bipasha role nothing short of just sleeping over and exchanging beds. the biggest and worst was selection and role of Aditya Pancholi nothing of his act seems a grey charcter.


Overall, a film saving grace was beauty of Goa , Prateeks nice act and dum maro dum title which blended with the situation. songs were also a dampener were the thrill of the movie was lost . the movie was similar to RGV style but was not executed with the sharpness and finesse of RGV thriller flicks. in the end, the movie DUM MARO DUM mein kuch kam DUM lag gaya :(

Ramnagari - a nice light hearted simple comedy

Watched RAMGIRI play on the life of actor RAM NAGARKAR . A very simple light hearted comedy with life antics and phases of the actor who wrote his autobiography with the same title .
The lead role played by the actor Kishore Chougle , who has got into the skin of the character.
The story of barber (nhavi) who is fond of life of enjoyment shows the simple and care free life of Nagarkar who enjoy life to the fullest . The Oppostion he faces from his family, to the way he is desperate for romance with his wife and the way he shines all over India with his Lok Kala with Rashtiya Seva Dal.





The actor Kishore has worked as a one man army in the drama with fantastic comic performance be his body language ,dialogues were simply great . The other characters in the play very new cast were equally good and supported it well.

Overall, a great and enjoyable evening with nice and funny play. A PLEASANT SURPRISE !!!!

Superb Win !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dhoni smashed that one into the stands and a billion peoples dream was achieved . WOW!! what a moment very difficult to express. The way the stadium exploded with smiles, tears of joy , ecstasy it showed how everyone was desperate for this win . Watching this WC from 1987 where India was thrown by Englishmen in 1987 to the farcical performance in 1992, 1999, a painful loss in 2003 and shocker defeats in 2007 had eluded us from the coveted trophy for 28 yrs!!!! But the win today has erased not only the bitter memories but re-established Dhoni as the leader in all formats of cricket . The team gave its all be in fielding where Yuvi , Raina and Virat were like huge wall, 2G ( Gautam Gambhir) rock solid performance and Dhoni's captains innings which lead to the historic win. Not to forget Zaheer' s fantastic spell which laid the foundation for sucess.

Finally, the moment came when the Indians played like true champions to dedicate this World Cup to the little master who served them and carried the burden of batting on his shoulder for 21 yrs. Fitting tribute by Kohli to carry Sachin on his shoulders!! Now the celebrations will continue for long time to come and the memories will be cherished all through life.

Super win for Champion Team thats the way MAHI WAY!!!!!! CHAK DE INDIA :)

PLAY FOR INDIA DHONI !!!!!

Its a really a pity to see India loose a match in such fashion. The worst part of it was the way reactions given by the skipper Dhoni that players should not play to the gallery. What the hell this stupid guy is thinking. So are we the people stupid to spend our money, take the lathis on our bum and loose our concentration from work and sit in front of TV for these bloody ten rascals . Yup , i feel all those screaming around going around winning the cup for Tendulkar is fake promise. The way our players gave up the game even before they deliver for the next innings was obvious.THE WRITING WAS ALWAYS ON THE WALL!!.



The way the match was lost was the sore point rather than fighting way to loose a battle . You always don't get these great starts from Sachin-Viru. The pride of winning the match for India was not seen in the way they laid down the fight. The worst was the way he told players should not play for the audience , just show how you feel if you play before an empty stands !! it was not the mistake for playing to the audience , but playing your game with using your grey matter and some really uncommon common sense. So, RASCAL Dhoni play sensibly or the INDIAN AUDIENCE WILL GIVE U DE GHUMAKE !!!!!!!
